FAQs

What does “Andante” mean?

Great question! Andante is a musical term that means performing at a slow pace or tempo, which can apply to real life. The same with therapy: Everyone moves and progresses at their own pace. No two people are alike.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’ve been thinking about this for a while, you’re most likely to consider it right for you. What it all boils down to is whether you’re ready right now. It’s okay if you’re not. You’re already making progress by considering therapy.

What does therapy look like when working with you?

Once we have a consultation call and we agree to move forward, you will receive an intake packet to fill out so I can better assist you. The initial intake session will last 60-75 minutes due to us exploring your presenting problems. Subsequent sessions will occur every week for 60 minutes except preteens and teens, which can last 30-60 minutes. After a few sessions, we will create a treatment plan, which is a blueprint of the goals we will be working towards that is tailored for you.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept the following commercial insurance plans:

New York: Aetna (including Meritain), Anthem (formerly Empire) Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Cigna, Oscar, Oxford, and UnitedHealthcare

Florida: Aetna (including Meritain), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Cigna, Oscar, Oxford, and UnitedHealthcare

New Jersey and Vermont: Private Pay only

Do you private pay?

We do! Choosing to invest in your mental health is a powerful decision. If you do decide not to use insurance, you’re more than welcome to pay out-of-pocket. Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate for services you receive per year.

What video conferencing platform is used for sessions?

Unless otherwise indicated, all sessions take place via HIPAA-compliant Zoom. A link will be sent to you via email at your appointment times.
